Location
Fellside Wood Studio is situated in an idyllic location, above the small hamlet of Butterwick in the Lowther valley, approximately 9 miles south of Penrith. This is a quiet and unspoilt part of the Lake District National Park, with small villages and farms surrounded by rolling fells. The workshop adjoins Peter and his wife Sarah's house, and is next to a working farm. The fells and open common land are a short walk away across the fields, and directions for lunchtime walks can be provided!
Despite the workshops apparent remoteness it can be reached from the M6 in less than 20 minutes. For those choosing to come by train we will happily pick you up from Penrith, which is served by fast trains on the west coast main line.
If you want to extend your stay or bring a partner to the Lake District there are a wide range of attractions to visit. The stunning landscape is the area's main selling point but there are also very good museums, galleries, shops, cafes and pubs all within a few miles. For further information see www.visitcumbria.com
